Applications are now open for individuals interested in joining the Government Cyber Security Advisory Board. This initiative is part of the UK Government Cyber Security Strategy, launched in January 2022 to enhance the country’s defenses against cyber-attacks and strengthen its position as a democratic and cyber powerhouse.
The advisory board is seeking experts in cybersecurity from various backgrounds, including the government, private sector, and academia. The goal is to bring together diverse perspectives and collaborate on finding solutions to the most pressing cybersecurity challenges facing the United Kingdom.
To be eligible to join the advisory board, individuals must have professional experience in cybersecurity, with expertise in areas such as cybersecurity strategy, governance, risk management, program delivery, cyber detection and response, technology, and cyber skills and culture.
Meetings of the advisory board will take place once every two months, primarily virtually with occasional in-person meetings in London. Interested candidates are required to submit a cover letter of no more than 1000 words to gsgcyber@cabinetoffice.gov.uk, outlining their motivations for joining the board, how they meet the eligibility criteria, and why they would be a valuable addition to the team.
The deadline for applications is June 6, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. This is a unique opportunity for individuals with a passion for cybersecurity to contribute to shaping the future of cybersecurity in the United Kingdom.
