Nyan Heroes, an Overwatch-style hero shooter game, has announced that it will be returning to the Epic Games Store for its next playtest period on March 26. Playtest 04 will bring about various improvements and tweaks to the game, as well as introduce a brand new hero, game mode, and map.
The free-to-play team shooter, which incorporates tokens and NFTs on the Solana blockchain, immerses players in a powered-up mech suit as a cat. Nyan Heroes has enjoyed significant success on the Epic Games Store, garnering over 100,000 players during its pre-alpha demo test, becoming one of the top wishlisted games on the platform, and even being spotlighted by Epic Games.
9 Lives Interactive, the developer behind Nyan Heroes, is set to introduce a new hero named Coco the pilot and his mech Gizmo. Coco will possess unique abilities such as deploying turrets, picking up scraps to enhance armor, creating a floating platform, and unleashing a giant explosive-throwing version of himself as an ultimate ability.
The upcoming playtest period, starting on March 26 and running until April 13, will also feature a new airdrop campaign. Additionally, a new game mode called Fishball, inspired by Call of Duty’s Uplink, will challenge players to score points by carrying or throwing a pufferfish-like ball into the opponents’ goal.
Furthermore, a new map set in a recreated version of Tokyo will be introduced, providing players with tight spaces and vertical movement opportunities to complement the gameplay changes. Updates to the heads-up display, voiceovers, music, secondary weapons, and text chat system are also on the horizon for the playtest.
Overall, Nyan Heroes continues to evolve and innovate, offering players exciting new content and gameplay experiences. Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming playtest and the exciting additions it will bring to the game.
