Pipe Network Launches PipeQuest Rewards Program on Solana
Solana-based Pipe Network is rolling out a new rewards program for users who offer bandwidth to test its decentralized content delivery system. The initiative was announced at the Token2049 conference in Dubai on May 1, where Pipe Network revealed its plans to incentivize node operators contributing computing power to its decentralized content delivery network built on Solana.
The rewards program, known as PipeQuest, aims to encourage engagement with the Pipe Network testnet. It will offer incentives to node operators, promote community participation, and drive network demand in preparation for the network’s mainnet launch scheduled for summer 2025.
Building the Future of the Internet on Solana
The primary objective of Pipe Network is to create a scalable ecosystem that allows users to share data, stream content, and conduct online activities using decentralized infrastructure. By reducing reliance on costly data centers operated by major tech companies, Pipe Network seeks to revolutionize the way the internet functions.
One of the key advantages of Pipe Network is its ability to transform almost any device into a Point of Presence node. This means that individuals with personal computers, laptops, or mobile devices can leverage idle computing power to earn rewards and support the network. Additionally, the proximity of these smaller nodes to end users can enhance performance by reducing latency, resulting in faster loading times for content consumers.
David Rhodus, the founder of Permissionless Labs, the company behind Pipe Network, highlighted the benefits of the platform during the Token2049 event:
“We’re thrilled to offer our testnet to the broader Solana community to showcase how a decentralized CDN can enhance bandwidth and reduce latency beyond what traditional off-chain solutions can achieve.”
With over 200,000 Point of Presence nodes onboarded, Pipe Network has already facilitated the uploading of more than 200,000 files and the storage of a total of 250 Terabytes of data. This impressive growth demonstrates the potential of decentralized content delivery networks to revolutionize the way data is shared and accessed online.
By leveraging the power of Solana and incentivizing node operators through programs like PipeQuest, Pipe Network is paving the way for a more decentralized and efficient internet experience for users worldwide.
