Circle Internet Group, Inc. (NYSE: CRCL) has recently announced exciting developments for its native USDC stablecoin and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V2. These innovations will soon be launching on Hyperliquid, a decentralized finance trading platform that has seen a surge in total assets under management (AUM), surpassing $5.5 billion.
USDC and CCTP V2 Go Live on Hyperliquid
Circle revealed that USDC will be integrated into HyperEVM, Hyperliquid’s smart contract layer, allowing for USDC deposits across both HyperCore and any applications built on HyperEVM. Additionally, CCTP V2 will enable users to transfer USDC between Hyperliquid and other supported blockchains with full capital efficiency. USDC issued on Hyperliquid will remain fully reserved and regulated, redeemable 1:1 with U.S. dollars, and will support institutional-grade on/off-ramps like Circle Mint for eligible users.
Hyperliquid Captures USDC Market Share
Hyperliquid has been dominating USDC volume on Arbitrum, capturing 70% of the network’s stablecoin liquidity. The platform’s AUM has grown significantly, with a $1.5 billion increase in July, $1.2 billion of which was driven by USDC inflows.
Key Use Cases and Developer Benefits
USDC on Hyperliquid can be used as collateral for perpetual contracts and spot pairs, while developers can integrate USDC into HyperEVM-based applications for fast settlement and seamless cross-chain functionality. CCTP V2’s bridging functionality supports cross-chain onboarding, token swaps, and portfolio rebalancing with a frictionless user experience.
Binance to Accept Circle’s Yield-Bearing Stablecoin USYC
In a separate announcement, Circle revealed a partnership with Binance to bring its yield-bearing stablecoin, USYC, to Binance’s institutional trading platform. This collaboration allows Binance’s institutional clients to hold and use USYC as off-exchange collateral for derivatives trades, offering additional yield opportunities while maintaining capital flexibility.
As USDC expands its presence on high-performance DeFi chains like Hyperliquid, its role as a digital dollar standard in the crypto space continues to deepen. Developers and users are encouraged to stay tuned for launch updates and engage with Circle’s team on Discord for further details on USDC integration on Hyperliquid.
The integration of USDC and CCTP V2 on Hyperliquid marks a significant milestone for Circle and the DeFi ecosystem, providing users with enhanced liquidity, capital efficiency, and seamless cross-chain functionality.
