CCP Games Introduces Founder Access Packs for Eve Frontier
CCP Games has recently announced the launch of Founder Access packs, offering early access perks to players interested in participating in the development of their upcoming space survival game, Eve Frontier. The Founder Access packs are available in three tiers, priced between $30 and $90, and are currently on sale. Players who purchase these packs will gain access to an exclusive “always-on server” in Closed Alpha starting on December 10.
In addition to early access to the game, the Founder Access packs come with a range of benefits such as unique skins, a special “Founder” role on the Discord server, monthly developer streams, and post-launch premium subscription play time in Eve Frontier. While the game will eventually be free-to-play for all users, those who invest in the Founder Access packs will have the opportunity to leave their mark on the game’s evolving world.
CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson expressed his excitement about this new phase of development, stating, “Our long-term vision is to create an open ecosystem built, operated, and governed by the Frontier’s inhabitants themselves. Founder Access is the start of a new and exciting phase in this development, giving players the chance to be a foundational part of our collaborative approach in a meaningful way.”
Eve Frontier is set in a challenging universe where survival is key, as Pétursson described it as “the world is out to get you.” The game will be built on the Ethereum-layer 2 network Redstone and will incorporate various crypto tokens, including an EVE token that serves as the game’s utility token.
CCP Games, best known for their popular MMO game Eve Online, raised $40 million in funding in March 2023 to develop a blockchain-based game. Players who participate in the Closed Alpha with Founder Access will be required to adhere to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) when the Alpha launches on December 10, as stated on the Eve Frontier website.
