The chief investment officer of crypto asset management firm Bitwise, Matt Hougan, believes that traditional finance (TradFi) companies are increasingly looking for higher returns in the cryptocurrency space. In a recent interview on The Wolf of All Streets, Hougan suggested that after experiencing significant profits from Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), these firms are now exploring alternative opportunities within the industry.

Hougan noted that traditional finance companies are unlikely to shift their focus to traditional assets like Kellogg’s stock after witnessing the lucrative returns in the cryptocurrency market. Instead, they are diversifying their portfolios by investing in companies like Circle, Ethereum, and various crypto treasury companies. According to him, this trend is only in its early stages and is expected to gain momentum in the near future.

Despite concerns about a potential market bubble, Hougan remains optimistic about the future of cryptocurrency investments. He emphasized that the influx of investment opportunities in the industry indicates a growing interest from traditional finance players. As the adoption of cryptocurrencies continues to expand, Hougan believes that the trend of investing in crypto treasury companies will only strengthen over time.
