Bitcoin Price Forecast: Could Bitcoin Reach $1.5 Million by 2030?
In a recent report released by ARK Invest, the investment firm laid out its bullish case for Bitcoin potentially hitting $1.5 million by the end of this decade. The base case scenario pegs Bitcoin at $710,000, while even the bear case forecast predicts a substantial increase to $300,000.
ARK Invest attributes these projections to several accelerating trends, including the rising institutional allocation, adoption of Bitcoin as a store of value, demand from emerging markets, and the growth of on-chain financial services. The report also highlights a growing interest among nation-states and corporations to add Bitcoin to their reserves.
At the time of the report’s release, Bitcoin was trading around $93,958, recovering from recent market volatility. ARK’s most optimistic scenario implies a nearly 15-fold increase from current levels, driven by what it sees as a structural transformation in global finance. The firm expects institutional investors to allocate up to 6.5% of their portfolios to Bitcoin in the most bullish scenario, with 2.5% as the base case.
One of the key points made in the report is that Bitcoin could eventually capture 60% of gold’s current market value, reinforcing its digital gold thesis. The firm also sees significant upside potential from increased adoption in emerging markets, where inflation and currency instability are eroding trust in traditional financial systems.
ARK estimates that Bitcoin could capture up to 6% of the monetary base in emerging markets, with additional upside from increased use by corporations and governments. The report also highlights the expansion of Bitcoin’s utility beyond storage, particularly through Layer 2 networks, restaking protocols, and tokenized assets, leading to a projected 60% annual growth rate in on-chain financial services.
While the official bull case targets $1.5 million per Bitcoin by 2030, ARK introduces a refined model that adjusts for dormant or lost supply. Under this adjusted supply scenario, the bull case price could climb as high as $2.4 million, reflecting Bitcoin’s extreme scarcity and accelerating institutional demand.
The report stops short of guaranteeing Bitcoin as a winner but positions it as a leading asset in a maturing digital monetary system gaining mainstream traction. The future of Bitcoin remains uncertain, but with increasing institutional demand and adoption, the potential for significant price growth by 2030 is not out of the question.
