World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a crypto project backed by the Donald Trump family, is making strides in its international expansion plans. Recently, WLFI founders Zach Witkoff, Zak Folkman, and Chase Hero met with industry expert Changpeng Zhao, the founder and former CEO of Binance, in Abu Dhabi on April 27.
The meeting, as detailed on X, focused on promoting wider crypto adoption globally and exploring ways to elevate industry standards. The team expressed interest in continuing discussions with Zhao, viewing the meeting as just the beginning of a broader collaboration.
This interaction with Zhao signifies another step forward for WLFI as it seeks to extend its reach beyond the US and forge connections with key players in the global crypto sphere. Following the meeting, Zhao cautioned about potential negative media coverage, noting that mainstream outlets may distort the event to sow discord.
Zhao’s apprehension is not unwarranted, given previous false reports suggesting he was in talks with the Trump family regarding an investment deal for Binance.US. He refuted these claims, emphasizing that such misinformation aims to discredit both the US president and the crypto industry.
In parallel with the Abu Dhabi meeting, WLFI also inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC). The partnership aims to bolster financial inclusion efforts for Pakistan’s youth and drive blockchain innovation in the region.
Witkoff highlighted that this collaboration underscores WLFI’s dedication to fostering diverse economic opportunities. Bilal Bin Saqib, CEO of PCC and now a strategic advisor to WLFI, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the potential for blockchain to catalyze transformative opportunities in emerging markets.
As WLFI continues to forge alliances and expand its global footprint, its commitment to driving innovation and inclusivity in the crypto space remains unwavering. Stay tuned for more updates on WLFI’s initiatives and partnerships as the project navigates the dynamic landscape of digital finance.
