Bitdeer Technologies Group, a prominent player in the Bitcoin mining and infrastructure industry, has recently shared its operational update for May 2025. The update showcases significant progress in expanding its hashrate capacity, ongoing infrastructure development, and the launch of AI services.
During May 2025, Bitdeer continued to deploy its SEALMINER mining rigs to various sites in Texas, U.S., Norway, and Bhutan, resulting in a self-mining hashrate of 13.6 EH/s by the end of the month. The company aims to achieve over 40 EH/s of self-mining capacity by October 2025. Additionally, Bitdeer sold approximately 1.6 EH/s of its SEALMINER A2s to external customers in May, with plans to release the A3 Series for pre-order soon.
In terms of mining performance, Bitdeer mined 196 BTC in May, marking an 18.1% increase from the previous month. This growth can be attributed to the expanded deployment of SEALMINER A1 and A2 units. The company has manufactured 9 EH/s of SEALMINER A2s, with 2.9 EH/s already shipped to customers and 1.6 EH/s sold in May.
The upcoming SEALMINER A3s are currently undergoing machine-level testing with positive results and will be available for pre-order in June. Bitdeer is also working on developing the next-generation A4 SEALMINER chip, targeting an efficiency of 5 J/TH by Q4 2025.
Bitdeer has also ventured into the AI sector with the launch of its AI Cloud service, powered by advanced large language models (LLMs) such as LLaMA, DeepSeek, and Qwen variants. This move represents a strategic entry into the high-performance computing/AI market segment.
Infrastructure-wise, Bitdeer is making progress in energizing its sites, including the 175 MW Tydal, Norway site, which is expected to be fully energized by June, and the 221 MW Massillon, Ohio site, set for completion in the second half of 2025. The company has also energized 132 MW at its Jigmeling, Bhutan site, with an additional 368 MW coming online by Q3.
Financially, Bitdeer secured $50 million in cash proceeds in May, following the exercise of warrants by Tether from a 2024 private placement.
With a global capacity of 2,690 MW and operations expanding across North America, Europe, and Asia, Bitdeer is solidifying its position as a leading Bitcoin mining operator and a pioneer in high-performance computing.
