Chandigarh University Lucknow is making significant strides in preparing the next generation of AI workforce, according to industry experts. The university recently hosted the first-ever AI Summit in Uttar Pradesh, titled ‘AI Higher Education Summit 2025,’ in alignment with the government’s IndiaAI Mission.
The Summit, themed ‘From Classroom to Cloud: Pioneering the AI Future,’ brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including policymakers, global AI experts, academic and industry leaders, AI innovators, educators, and students. The discussions focused on the transformative role of AI in shaping the future of education and equipping youth with essential skills for careers in the AI-driven world.
Key dignitaries at the Summit included Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chandigarh University Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu, Vivek Agrawal, Managing Director of Accenture India Pvt Ltd, MP Agrawal, GC Tripathi, Chairman of the Higher Education Council in Uttar Pradesh, and Chandigarh University Managing Director Jai Inder Singh Sandhu.
Industry experts such as Lata Singh from IBM Consulting, Suvarnanidhi Rao from Philips India, and Pramod Kumar Jha from LTIMindtree also attended the Summit. In his keynote address, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak highlighted the significant progress that India has made in the field of computer science and software engineering under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu emphasized the importance of AI education in today’s scenario and announced the launch of AI-augmented multi-disciplinary courses at Chandigarh University Lucknow. He also mentioned the UP government’s plans to build an AI city in Lucknow and the university’s contribution to this initiative.
Guest of Honor GC Tripathi stressed the need for AI to reduce the pressure on students and teachers in the education system. Vivek Agrawal from Accenture Pvt. Ltd. expressed his belief in AI as the future of technology and commended universities like Chandigarh University for leading the way in AI education.
Pramod Kumar Jha highlighted the potential of AI to augment offerings in the IT and ITeS industry globally.
