ZKcandy Launches Mainnet for Ethereum Scaling Network
ZKcandy, a new Ethereum scaling network focused on mobile gaming, has officially launched its mainnet after a successful testnet phase that saw users create over 2.46 million wallets. Co-created by Southeast Asia-based game developer iCandy Interactive and ZKsync developer Matter Labs, ZKcandy utilizes Ethereum layer-2 scaling technology to enhance the gaming experience.
Seed Funding and Game Lineup
The mainnet launch follows a $4 million seed round led by Wemix and Animoca Ventures. With eight games currently available, including popular titles like Pepe Kingdom, Sugar Rush, and Candy Defense, ZKcandy aims to revolutionize the gaming industry by combining blockchain technology with AI to deliver dynamic storylines and unique non-player characters.
Unique Features of ZKcandy
ZKcandy sets itself apart by offering mobile-first Web3 experiences, AI-powered NPCs, unscripted storytelling, true asset ownership across games, and ultra-low fees for gamers and developers. This innovative approach to Web3 gaming is reshaping the landscape of interactive entertainment.
Future Plans and Initiatives
ZKcandy CEO Kin Wai Lau expressed excitement about the platform’s potential for growth, stating, “Our testnet success is just the beginning. With our recent funding, we are focused on expanding our partnership network and bringing renowned IPs and AAA mobile games to Web3.” To drive adoption, ZKcandy plans to allocate 5% of its native token supply for promotional campaigns and establish a grant program for developers.
As part of the Elastic Chain ecosystem alongside other ZKsync-powered layer-2 networks like Abstract and Cronos, ZKcandy is committed to making blockchain gaming accessible to all. Wai Lau emphasized the importance of connecting mobile gaming with Web3 technology, stating, “Our goal is to provide gamers with a transparent, secure, and seamless gaming experience that bridges the gap between traditional gaming and blockchain.”
