Ethereum Dominates Institutional Investments in Digital Asset Products
Last week, Ethereum (ETH) emerged as the top choice for institutional investments in digital asset products, according to a report by crypto investment firm CoinShares.
The latest Digital Asset Fund Flows Report revealed that institutional investors poured record amounts into Ethereum exchange-traded products (ETPs) last week. In fact, Ethereum attracted a staggering $2.12 billion in inflows, nearly double its previous record of $1.2 billion. This influx of funds over the past 13 weeks now represents 23% of Ethereum’s assets under management (AuM), with 2025 inflows already surpassing the full-year total for 2024 at $6.2 billion.
Bitcoin and Other Digital Assets Benefit from Strong Inflows
Bitcoin (BTC) products also experienced significant inflows of $2.2 billion, while other digital assets like Solana (SOL), XRP, and SUI exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw inflows of $39 million, $36 million, and $9.3 million, respectively. These inflows contributed to the largest weekly inflows on record for digital asset investment products.
The report stated, “Digital asset investment products recorded their largest weekly inflows on record, totaling $4.39 billion, surpassing the previous peak set post-US election in December 2024. This marks the 14th consecutive week of inflows, bringing year-to-date totals to $27 billion, with total assets under management reaching a new all-time high of $220 billion.” Weekly trading turnover in ETPs also reached record levels globally, hitting $39.2 billion, driven by increased volumes in both Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Global Inflows and Market Trends
The United States led inflows globally with $4.36 billion, while countries like Brazil and Germany saw outflows of $28.1 million and $15.5 million, respectively. Switzerland, Hong Kong, and Australia contributed additional inflows of $47.3 million, $14.1 million, and $17.3 million, showcasing the global interest in digital asset investments.
Overall, the surge in institutional investments in digital asset products reflects the growing confidence in cryptocurrencies like Ethereum and Bitcoin among institutional investors.
