Forgotten Runiverse Enters Early Access on Ronin Network
Role-playing game Forgotten Runiverse has officially launched in early access on the Ronin Network, providing users with the opportunity to delve into a magical realm filled with spells and rewards. The game is set in an open fantasy world based on the Ethereum NFT collection, Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult.
This launch marks the culmination of three years of development and over 1 million hours of gameplay testing. After migrating from the Ethereum layer-2 network Arbitrum last year, Forgotten Runiverse has found its new home on the Ronin Network, where players can now immerse themselves in a rich gaming experience.
“We just launched the first true live service Web3 MMORPG. And it’s free,” shared Bearsnake, the pseudonymous co-founder and COO of Forgotten Runes. “The world, storylines, and even NPCs are based on a blend of community lore and team.”
The Early Access Global Launch of Runiverse introduces players to the Moonlit Wilds, the first major game content update. In Moonlit Wilds, players can explore land plots, construct new buildings, craft items, mint resources, and master 32 unique spells while undertaking exciting quests.
Following the recent playtest, Crash the Runiverse, eligible users can now claim their allocation of Quanta, the in-game currency of Forgotten Runiverse. These Quanta can be used to acquire XP, the game’s native token, as well as other partner reward tokens during the token generation event.
The development team anticipates that Forgotten Runiverse will remain in early access for a significant period as they continue to enhance the game with more content and features. The full version of the game promises more polish, expanded content, and a closer realization of the grand vision set out by the creators.
In a groundbreaking achievement, Forgotten Runiverse has been approved for development on major console platforms including Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox, making it the first Web3 game to receive such recognition across all three platforms. With backing from Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian’s venture fund Seven Seven Six, Forgotten Runiverse is well-positioned to further develop its immersive world and engage a wider audience of players.
