Gunzilla Games Launches GUN Token for Off The Grid Game on Avalanche Subnet Gunz
Gunzilla Games has officially launched its GUN token, which is associated with its Off The Grid game and the Avalanche subnet Gunz. The token made a strong start with a 12% increase in value since its early Monday morning launch, reaching a price of $0.09. At 11:30 am ET on Monday, the market cap of GUN was approximately $60 million, with 604 million GUN tokens currently in circulation out of a total possible supply of 10 billion. The token has already generated a trading volume of $126 million within hours of its release, according to data from CoinGecko.
The Gunz chain has already witnessed over 487 million transactions across 14.5 million wallets, as reported by Avascan data and Gunzilla’s Director of Web3, Theodore Agranat. Agranat highlighted the meticulous preparation behind the project, stating that the team spent five years building and testing everything in the testnet for over a year before the official launch. The decision to launch the token on Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange, was strategic.
Despite a recent decline in engagement between crypto exchanges and gaming projects, Agranat remains confident in Gunzilla Games’ approach. He emphasized that Off The Grid, a free-to-play game available on PC and console, does not require a wallet or any cryptocurrency to enjoy. The game primarily focuses on skill-based shooting with unique “cyberlimbs” granting special abilities to certain characters. Players can also purchase items for in-game use.

For players looking to enhance their gaming experience, Off The Grid offers a Pro membership for $12 a month, providing access to the game’s blockchain-based marketplace. Even players opting for the free version can earn GUN tokens gradually as they progress. However, existing GUN token balances within the game will not be convertible into actual GUN tokens, as confirmed by Gunzilla.
Early players of Off The Grid can benefit from exclusive rare items obtained through the OTG Pro membership, ensuring a unique gameplay experience. Agranat clarified that while the earned “hexes” and other items will carry over, players can extract hexes during gameplay to unveil valuable loot. In just a single day last week, over 380,000 hexes were extracted, highlighting the game’s interactive features and rewards system.
Personally invested in the game, I find both the solo and trios modes captivating. Off The Grid stands out in the extraction battle royale shooter genre with its fast-paced gameplay reminiscent of Call of Duty: Warzone. The incorporation of cyberlimbs and a gritty futuristic aesthetic adds a distinctive touch to the overall gaming experience.
