The Sandbox Launches Jurassic World Experience in Season 5
The popular Ethereum metaverse game, The Sandbox, is starting its fifth season with an exciting new in-game Jurassic World experience. Created in collaboration with Universal and Ambling Entertainment, players can now step into the shoes of a dinosaur park employee.
Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve is the highlight of the six-week-long season, offering over 40 new experiences. Players can expect to see content from other well-known entertainment brands like Attack on Titan, The Smurfs, and The Terminator. The game creator has been enhanced to allow for new features, making the gameplay even more immersive.
The Sandbox is an open-world video game available on PC and Mac, where players can explore and create in a blocky world. Users have the option to purchase NFTs representing virtual land, which they can then develop as they please. The game has partnered with numerous brands, offering a variety of experiences for players to enjoy.
Jurassic World, the modern iteration of the iconic Jurassic Park movie series, is the latest major IP to join The Sandbox. The in-game event will coincide with the upcoming theatrical release of "Jurassic World Rebirth" on July 2.
In this season, players will take on the role of a member of the Dinosaur Protection Group, tasked with ensuring the smooth operation of the park in Owen Grady’s absence. Players will care for dinosaur eggs, nurture the hatchlings, and help them grow into adults using Jurassic Points earned through various tasks.
Alpha Season 5 of The Sandbox promises to deliver an immersive experience for players, blending gamified storytelling with interactive user-generated content. The game will feature 10 types of dinosaur eggs, with half being herbivores available for free play and the other half being premium carnivores for purchase as NFTs.
The season will also offer a battle pass with over $1 million worth of SAND tokens and more than 50 NFTs up for grabs. These rewards can be earned through gameplay during the six-week season. The game’s NFTs are issued on the Ethereum scaling network Polygon, providing players with unique digital assets.
The Sandbox’s new game maker introduces enhanced character animations and gameplay features, along with a new ability system that allows players to perform actions like flying or double jumping. The game’s spokesperson mentioned plans to release multiple seasons this year, focusing on creating engaging LiveOps and metagameplay experiences for players.
