League of Kingdoms, a popular blockchain massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game, is taking a big step forward by expanding into a multi-game ecosystem called Arena-Z. This move will see the introduction of two new games, along with fresh tokens and a fund to support community development.
The Arena-Z ecosystem is set to welcome two new games by the end of the quarter. The first is League of Kingdoms Chronicle, a dungeon-crawling role-playing game that will allow players to use the NFT heroes from the original game. The second game, League of Kingdoms Hunters, is an idle RPG that offers players a way to continually progress even when they are not actively playing. Both games are currently in beta testing.
According to 3MERGED COO Han Yoo, the transition to Arena-Z represents a significant evolution for the gaming platform. He explained, “League of Kingdoms has shown that Web3 gaming can achieve mainstream success, but we believe that the future lies in connected gaming universes where player progress is seamless across multiple titles.”
All three games in the Arena-Z ecosystem will operate on the OP Superchain network, Arena-Z Chain, which is powered by Ethereum layer-2 Optimism technology. This infrastructure enables unified on-chain progression across the games. Yoo emphasized that while blockchain features are not mandatory, they enhance the gaming experience by allowing data streams and item ownership to flow seamlessly between games.
The introduction of a new token, A2Z, will further enhance the Arena-Z ecosystem. Holders of the current LOKA token can exchange it for A2Z at a ratio of 1:20 starting on July 28. The new token is intended to facilitate cross-game rewards and support a larger ecosystem that may include externally developed games.
In addition to A2Z, Arena-Z will also launch a non-governance HT token specifically for League of Kingdoms Hunters. This token will be issued for each in-game season and will help drive engagement with the new game. The Arena-Z community will have a say in determining how the HT tokens are allocated.
To encourage further growth within the ecosystem, Arena-Z has established a $20 million fund to support developers in creating quality games, apps, and infrastructure that will benefit players. Yoo expressed a commitment to supporting builders who can demonstrate how Web3 technology can enhance the player experience.
With these new developments, Arena-Z is poised to offer players a dynamic and interconnected gaming experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional gaming platforms. The future looks bright for this evolving gaming ecosystem, and players can expect exciting new opportunities for exploration and progression.
