As the discussions around cryptocurrency regulations in Türkiye continue, the Central Registry Agency (MKK) has recently made an important announcement.
The Central Registry Agency (MKK) has officially launched the Crypto Asset Central Registry System to establish a seamless integration between MKK and Crypto Asset Service Providers in the country.
In line with the Capital Markets Board’s (CMB) regulations outlined in the “Communiqué on the Establishment and Operating Principles of Crypto Asset Service Providers” and “Communiqué on the Working Principles and Capital Adequacy of Crypto Asset Service Providers” published on March 13, 2025, the role of the Central Registry Agency (MKK) has been clarified.
Under these regulations, Crypto Asset Service Providers are required to report all cryptocurrency transactions such as purchase, sale, exchange, transfer, storage, and other related activities to the newly established Crypto Asset Central Registry System (CVMKS) by the Central Registry Agency.
Investors will have the ability to monitor their crypto asset balances through MKK’s e-INVESTOR application and cross-reference their data with the platforms they are using.
The Capital Markets Board (CMB) has also stated that platforms and custody institutions listed on the “List of Active Parties” on the CMB website are undergoing technical and system integration tests with KVHSs to obtain an operating permit from the CMB. The deadline for KVHSs to submit their applications to the CMB is set for June 20, 2025.
