Off the Grid, a popular battle royale game developed by Gunzilla Games, has introduced a new Bored Ape Yacht Club-themed content pack for its Pro subscribers as part of an exciting “Ape-ril” promotion. This new pack includes two Bored Ape-inspired skins, two Ape-themed guns, and two unique emotes that allow players to express themselves in a truly ape-like fashion within the game.
The official Off the Grid account shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Time to go full ape sh*t with two Bored Apes battling for clout, coin, and chaos.” The promotional trailer showcases the Apes roaming around the game world, adding a fun and playful element to the gameplay experience.
In addition to the content pack, Off the Grid has also released a limited edition “Ape-fool Mask” that was exclusively available to players who participated in a game on April Fool’s Day. This rare in-game item adds an element of exclusivity for those who were quick to claim it.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club has gained significant popularity as one of the leading Ethereum NFT collections, reaching its peak in 2021 and 2022. Bored Ape NFTs have seen fluctuations in their value, with prices ranging from nearly $430,000 worth of ETH to around $29,000 worth of ETH. Owners of Bored Ape NFTs have the unique opportunity to use their avatars’ likeness in various commercial products, including video games and merchandise.
The launch of the Bored Ape pack coincides with Gunzilla’s recent mainnet rollout of GUNZ, its gaming-centric Avalanche L1 network that will support Off the Grid and potentially other future crypto games. Despite the initial excitement surrounding GUNZ, the token has experienced a decline in value since its launch, falling by 10% in the last 24 hours and over 53% overall from its peak value.
While GUNZ currently falls outside the top 50 gaming tokens by market cap, its fully diluted value places it higher than other notable game-adjacent tokens like ApeCoin and PRIME. Gunzilla is actively working on implementing the GUN token and GUNZ mainnet following the recent launch, with Web3 Head Theodore Agranat emphasizing that the mainnet migration is a top priority.
The introduction of the Bored Ape Yacht Club-inspired content pack has already attracted new players to Off the Grid, including Greg Solano, CEO of Yuga Labs and co-founder of the Bored Ape Yacht Club. Solano expressed his interest in the game, stating, “You get an Ape and PFP it, I play your game. Simple.”
Gunzilla Games has yet to comment on the Bored Ape Yacht Club-inspired content pack, but the community response has been overwhelmingly positive. As players eagerly await the integration of the GUN token and GUNZ mainnet, Off the Grid continues to provide engaging and innovative content for its dedicated player base.
