Gunzilla Games, the developer behind Off The Grid, has announced its decision to offer its GUN token on Solana in addition to Avalanche. This move is part of the studio’s “multi-chain strategy” to reach a broader audience and enhance the token’s utility.
While the contract address for the Solana token version has not been shared yet, existing GUN holders on Avalanche will have the option to transfer their tokens to Solana if they choose to do so. It is uncertain whether the expansion to Solana will impact the token’s supply or distribution schedule, but it is possible that a portion of the existing supply may be moved to the new chain.
The Solana token version and token bridge option are set to go live this week, providing GUN holders with more flexibility and accessibility across different blockchain networks. Gunzilla Games’ commitment to innovation and community-driven economy is reflected in this strategic move.
Gunzilla CEO Vlad Korolev emphasized the importance of staying ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape. He stated, “To evolve, to succeed, we at Gunzilla believe that you need to ship something today what will become very successful and famous — the product, which will be very successful and famous — and which our users and future users will love in several years ahead.”
Despite GUN’s price being down 70% from its all-time high, there has been a recent 45% increase in its value over the past two weeks. With only 6% of the total GUN supply currently in circulation, the tokenomics play a significant role in determining its price trajectory as more tokens are unlocked over time.
Comparing the activity between Solana and Avalanche, data shows that Solana has seen significantly higher network revenue in the last quarter. With over $819 million in revenue compared to Avalanche’s $1.5 million, Solana’s popularity and robust ecosystem make it an attractive choice for projects looking to expand their reach.
Gunzilla Games’ integration of Solana into its ecosystem opens up new opportunities for growth and engagement with the Solana community. The addition of Solana-branded in-game items and the involvement of Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko in the game further solidify the partnership between Gunzilla Games and the Solana network.
