OKX Standalone Wallet App Launches on Google Store, But Availability Limited
OKX web3 product manager Kyle Chen recently announced the launch of the platform’s standalone wallet app on the Google Store. However, he later admitted that the news was shared ‘too early’ as the app is not yet available in all regions and devices.
On Mar. 24, Chen issued an apology to users for the premature announcement, acknowledging that the app may not be accessible to all users at this time. He did not specify which regions have access to the app or provide a timeline for when it will be available to all users.
Chen’s initial announcement, made on X, revealed the release of an independent app for OKX’s wallet service. He encouraged users to search for the app on the Google Play Store to download it, noting that it is not currently available on Apple’s App Store.
In a later post, Chen shared a screenshot of the app’s interface and highlighted a new feature called “Token AI Narrative Summary.” This feature allows users to track real-time market sentiments, including insights on long and short positions, as well as the latest online discussions on X. Chen also teased that more features are in development for OKX Wallet.
While these features are not exclusive to the app, Chen assured users that those unable to access the app can still view the Token AI Narrative Summary on the website. He encouraged feedback and suggestions from users on the new feature.
Earlier this month, OKX announced a temporary suspension of its decentralized exchange aggregator service following an attempted hack believed to be linked to North Korea’s Lazarus Group. The platform stated that the suspension would allow for the implementation of additional security measures to prevent future attacks.
As OKX continues to expand its offerings and enhance security measures, users can look forward to accessing the standalone wallet app and its innovative features in the near future.
