President Donald Trump’s foray into the world of decentralized finance (DeFi) has taken a significant step forward with a new partnership between his project and Ondo Finance (ONDO), a real-world asset (RWA) tokenization protocol. The collaboration aims to drive adoption of RWAs by bringing traditional finance into the blockchain ecosystem.
The team behind Ondo Finance recently announced on social media platform X that they are teaming up with World Liberty Financial (WLFI) to bridge the gap between traditional financial systems and blockchain innovation. WLFI will be incorporating Ondo’s tokenized assets, including the stablecoin Ondo US Dollar Yield (USDY) and the Ondo Short-Term US Treasuries Fund (OUSG), into its network as treasury reserve assets.
In addition, WLFI plans to integrate USDY, OUSG, and other tokenized securities from Ondo’s upcoming global markets to enable seamless borrowing, lending, and margin trading for eligible customers. This strategic collaboration positions World Liberty Financial as a key partner in Ondo’s mission to scale Ondo Global Markets, a platform designed for the tokenization of traditional financial assets like stocks and bonds.
Donald Trump Jr., known as the “Web3 Ambassador” at WLFI, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with Ondo Finance represents a significant advancement in aligning traditional financial systems with blockchain technology. By incorporating Ondo’s tokenized assets, we are providing our network with access to traditional financial assets and new yield opportunities.”
According to data from blockchain intelligence firm Arkham, WLFI currently holds approximately $465,000 worth of ONDO tokens. The ONDO token is currently trading at $1.37, reflecting a 1.6% increase in value over the last 24 hours.
