The CEO of the Bitcoin (BTC)-focused exchange River, Alexander Leishman, has made it clear that his platform has no interest in providing access to anything other than the flagship crypto asset.

Leishman took to social media to express his views on the current state of crypto exchanges, stating that those which list altcoins have become more akin to casinos focused on “memecoins.” He believes that there are two distinct paths for a crypto exchange: a Bitcoin-only path or a multi-asset trading platform.
According to Leishman, the Bitcoin-only path allows exchanges to focus on helping people build and preserve long-term wealth through hard money, leading to a more “bank-like” institution. On the other hand, multi-asset trading platforms tend to revolve around speculative trading, resembling a casino environment.
Staying Bitcoin-Focused
Leishman firmly stands by the decision to keep River Bitcoin-focused, citing the vast gap between officially reported inflation rates and real inflation as the driving force behind this choice. He believes that currency debasement is a significant issue and that Bitcoin offers a solution to combat this problem.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $82,100, showcasing its strong position in the market despite the volatility of the cryptocurrency landscape.
