Robinhood Expands Staking Services to Include Ethereum and Solana
On July 10, Robinhood announced the launch of Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) staking services for U.S. customers. This new feature allows users to earn staking rewards on their crypto holdings with as little as $1, expanding Robinhood’s staking offerings beyond Europe.
With Ethereum staking, Robinhood will utilize a batch-processing method that pools customer stakes to meet the network’s minimum 32 ETH validator requirement. Depending on aggregation dynamics, users can expect to receive between 50% and 100% of Ethereum’s protocol staking rewards. Similarly, Solana staking is now available, with Robinhood managing all technical processes to simplify participation for retail investors.
Despite the exciting news, there are state-specific regulatory restrictions in place, preventing residents of California, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Wisconsin from accessing the staking services at this time. Additionally, starting October 2025, a 25% commission on staking rewards, along with third-party provider fees, will be implemented. Despite the fees, Robinhood aims to maintain a low entry threshold to attract retail users.
This move is part of Robinhood’s aggressive expansion into digital assets, which includes the recent acquisition of Bitstamp, one of the world’s longest-running crypto exchanges. The company also acquired WonderFi, a Canadian crypto platform, signaling its intent to integrate broader financial services around digital assets.
Earlier this year, Robinhood announced plans to build its own blockchain on Arbitrum to offer on-chain equity trading and decentralized services directly within its ecosystem. The platform continues to add new cryptocurrencies and has reported that crypto accounts for a growing share of its transaction-based revenue.
Although Robinhood had previously avoided offering staking to U.S. customers due to regulatory uncertainty, recent shifts in the landscape have enabled the new service rollout. The company’s broader crypto strategy aims to position it as both a retail-friendly gateway to digital assets and a competitive alternative to leading crypto exchanges.
Overall, Robinhood’s expansion into staking services for Ethereum and Solana marks a significant milestone in its journey towards becoming a comprehensive platform for digital asset management.
