New Bitcoin-Powered Scholarship Initiative Launched by Lomond School
In an exciting new development that merges education with Bitcoin innovation, Lomond School has introduced the groundbreaking Satoshi Scholarships. These scholarships are the first of their kind, powered by Bitcoin, and aim to provide students with a unique opportunity to pursue their education with a focus on economics, innovation, and critical thinking.
The renowned independent co-educational day and boarding school, which made headlines as the first institution to accept Bitcoin for tuition fees, is now offering 21 two-year boarding scholarships and 21 two-year day scholarships. These scholarships will cover the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to access high-quality education.
Principal Claire Chisholm expressed her enthusiasm for the scholarship program, stating, “The response from the Bitcoin community has been overwhelming since we announced our acceptance of Bitcoin for fees. The scholarship initiative is a natural progression for us, and with the support of Dr. Saifedean Ammous in developing our curriculum, we invite benefactors to join us in shaping the future generation of economic thinkers.”
Alongside the scholarships, Lomond School is launching a new economics curriculum in collaboration with Dr. Ammous, the acclaimed author of ‘The Bitcoin Standard’. The curriculum will focus on Austrian economics, sound money principles, and financial liberty ethics, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of economic concepts.
Dr. Ammous emphasized the importance of instilling sound economic knowledge in the younger generation, stating, “The future of freedom and prosperity hinges on the next generation’s grasp of solid economics. Through this partnership, we aim to foster long-term thinking and financial literacy from an early age. I am thrilled to be part of this exciting project with Lomond School.”
Complementing its progressive learning model, the school will integrate hands-on Bitcoin experiences into the curriculum. Students will explore decentralized finance principles, work with Bitcoin mining hardware donated to the school, and gain practical insights into monetary systems beyond traditional classroom learning.
Lomond School is actively seeking 43 founding benefactors to support the scholarship program and flagship sponsor package. Chisholm urged interested parties to join the initiative, stating, “Be one of the 43 individuals shaping the future, where education meets innovation, and Austrian economics finds its place in the classroom. Help us revolutionize education from Helensburgh.” To learn more or express interest, interested parties can contact [email protected].
