Revolutionizing Golfing Loyalty Programs
The highly anticipated Solana-based golfing loyalty app GolfN has officially gone live on the App Store, as reported exclusively by Lightspeed. This innovative mobile app merges collectibles with digital caddie features and introduces a native GOLF token, offering users a unique experience that CEO Jared Phillips likened to a blend of “Chase rewards, Strava, and Pokémon Go.” With a staggering waitlist of over 47,000 golfers, GolfN is set to revolutionize the world of crypto consumer rewards.
Earning Rewards Through Membership
Upon downloading GolfN, users are prompted to create a free account and receive three digital golf clubs that enable rewards. However, only non-financialized “tickets” can be earned by logging rounds with a free account. To access points, which will soon be convertible to Solana-based GOLF tokens, users must opt for a paid GolfN membership ranging from $50 to $1,000 per month. These memberships offer a range of benefits, allowing users to accumulate points that can be redeemed for golf gear or traded on the open market. Additionally, GolfN will introduce virtual golf club collectibles available for “rental.”
The Economics Behind GolfN
When questioned about the sustainability of this rewards system, Phillips expressed confidence in golfers’ willingness to invest in a monthly membership to reap rewards for their golf expenditures, drawing parallels to membership-based credit cards. In addition to benefiting users, GolfN provides valuable customer data insights to its golf industry partners.
The Future of GolfN
Phillips predicts that GolfN will attract a diverse user base, estimating a ratio of 10:1 non-crypto to crypto individuals due to the app’s focus on golf enthusiasts rather than crypto experts. Despite this, Phillips believes that the intersection of golf and crypto is significant, stating that “not everyone in crypto golfs, but everyone in crypto is golf-adjacent.”
