Nyan Heroes, the popular cat-themed hero shooter game built on Solana, has just announced its largest token airdrop to date. During the upcoming Playtest 4 event, the game will distribute a whopping 6.7 million NYAN tokens, which is equivalent to nearly $200,000. This airdrop marks a significant 34% increase from the previous distribution and includes a top prize of 250,000 tokens for the highest-ranked player.
The reward structure for the airdrop was designed by Asimakis Reppas, a former director of the economy for EVE Online. It consists of three tiers: Challenger, Leaderboard, and Genesis NFT. Players will have the opportunity to earn points by completing in-game missions and challenges, as well as through web missions such as connecting accounts and inviting friends. Those who hold Genesis NFTs will receive multipliers that boost their points based on the rarity of their NFT.
Playtest 4 will introduce several exciting new gameplay elements for Nyan Heroes players to enjoy. One of the highlights is the addition of a new pilot named Coco, who controls Guardian Gizmo, a mech constructed from scraps. This mech has the ability to deploy turrets and create magnetic platforms, adding a new layer of strategy to the game. Additionally, a new competitive game mode called Fishball will be introduced, where teams compete to score points by carrying or throwing a ball into their opponents’ goals. Players can also look forward to exploring a brand new Tokyo-themed map designed for vertical movement.
Developer 9 Lives Interactive has emphasized that this token distribution is part of Nyan Heroes’ community rewards program. The current allocation of tokens represents 2% of the total community rewards pool, demonstrating the game’s commitment to rewarding its dedicated player base.
