Sony Group’s Layer-2 network, Soneium, has made a significant move in the blockchain industry by launching a community incentive campaign worth 100 million ASTR. This initiative, part of a broader plan to accelerate on-chain adoption and foster the Web3 ecosystem, aims to not only reward users but also to create a more engaged community within Soneium’s ecosystem.
The campaign, known as the Astar Contribution Score (ACS) program, allows users to earn ACS points by participating in various activities within the Soneium ecosystem. These activities include using decentralized apps (dApps), providing liquidity on the DeFi network, and supporting Web3 projects. Users can later convert their accumulated ACS points into ASTR tokens, with a conversion ratio of 10 ACS = 1 ASTR.
Over 40 projects have joined the campaign, including SoneX, Kyo Finance, SoneFi, Velodrome, and QuickSwap. Users holding assets such as ASTR, ETH, USDC, and USDT will receive multipliers on the points they earn, with ASTR offering the highest multiplier. This incentivizes users to use ASTR more frequently for transactions, further enhancing the token’s utility within the ecosystem.
Sony’s partnership with key blockchain players, such as Astar Network, Alchemy, Chainlink, Circular, Optimism, and Graph Protocol, has solidified the foundation of the Soneium ecosystem. This collaboration ensures that Soneium is well-positioned for long-term growth and expansion, beyond just being a traditional blockchain project.
In addition to the ACS campaign, Sony is gearing up to launch a Fan Marketing Platform based on NFTs. This platform will provide brands with new ways to engage with fans, streamline NFT distribution, and track user interactions. By integrating data analytics tools, Sony aims to create an ecosystem that is not only blockchain-friendly but also user-friendly for mainstream adoption.
The ACS campaign will run for 100 days, from February 20 to May 30, 2025, giving users ample time to accumulate points and convert them into ASTR tokens. This initiative is not just about distributing free tokens but about fostering a vibrant and engaged community within the Soneium ecosystem.
With strategic alliances, the development of an NFT-based platform, and tangible incentives for users, Sony is signaling its commitment to blockchain adoption and the future of Web3. The success of initiatives like Soneium’s ACS campaign will determine how quickly blockchain ecosystems can attract and retain users. And with 100 million ASTR up for grabs, it seems like the future of Web3 is brighter than ever.
