Echos, the artificial intelligence platform for agentic tokens, is shutting down
After a short-lived journey in the crypto AI space, Echos, the AI agent platform developed by Cosmos-based liquid staking platform Stride, is set to cease operations on May 1, 2025. The announcement, made on March 27, cited low adoption as the primary reason for the platform’s closure.
Launched in beta in November 2024, Echos failed to gain significant traction, reflecting the overall slowdown in the crypto AI agent market. The team behind Echos acknowledged the lack of adoption and the contraction in the AI agents market as contributing factors to their decision.
From vision to sunset
Initially envisioned as a disruptor in the decentralized finance space, Echos aimed to leverage AI and memecoin focus to propel the future of decentralized finance within Stride’s liquid staking network. However, the platform’s inability to attract users ultimately led to its closure.
The Echos team has advised all users to withdraw their funds before the shutdown on May 1. Inspired by Terminal of Truths, an AI agent that fueled the rise of the memecoin Goateus Maximus (GOAT) in 2024, Echos sought to create a similar AI experience accessible to anyone with a crypto wallet and X account.
Although Echos did not progress beyond its initial phase, the AI agent sector has witnessed the emergence of notable projects like Virtuals Protocol, ai16z, Freysa AI, and Delysium.
