The Graph Introduces GRC-20 Data Standard for Web3
The Graph, a decentralized indexing system often referred to as the Google for blockchains, has recently announced the launch of a new data standard for Web3. Known as GRC-20, this standard is set to revolutionize how information is structured, distributed, and linked between decentralized applications. Developer Yaniv Tal presented the proposal for this groundbreaking standard, as detailed on The Graph website.
Building on the concept of knowledge graphs introduced by Tal earlier this year, the GRC-20 standard aims to enhance the understanding of information by capturing connections and relationships between data points. This standard will replace the current Resource Description Framework (RDF) utilized by the World Wide Web Consortium, as it is deemed unfit for the complexities of Web3.
The Graph explains that GRC-20 will establish a common language for knowledge within the Web3 ecosystem, enabling an open, verifiable, and composable network. To assist users in implementing the GRC-20 standard, The Graph will be rolling out a set of tools in the near future. The proposal for enhancing The Graph by Yaniv Tal is currently open for feedback, allowing for community input before finalization.
