Crypto.com’s Cronos token has recently received a major boost in utility by being integrated into Truth Social, a media platform backed by former US President Donald Trump. This integration allows subscribers of Truth Social’s premium Patriot Package to earn Truth Gems, a rewards feature tied to user activity on the platform. These Gems can now be converted into Cronos tokens through Crypto.com’s wallet infrastructure, expanding the use cases for the token beyond just exchange trading.
Kris Marszalek, the CEO of Crypto.com, sees this development as a significant milestone for the Cronos token ecosystem. He emphasized the company’s strategy of building consistent token demand through strategic partnerships. Following this news, Cronos experienced a surge of over 4%, briefly reaching $0.27 before settling back to $0.25.
The integration between Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) and Crypto.com showcases a broader alignment between the two entities. TMTG recently entered into a purchase agreement with Crypto.com for 684.4 million CRO tokens, valued at approximately $105 million. This deal, paid in a combination of cash and stock, represents around 2% of the token’s circulating supply.
In addition to direct token accumulation, Crypto.com is also a central player in TMTG’s plans for digital asset exchange-traded products. The two companies announced their intention to launch a suite of crypto-based ETFs later this year, pending regulatory approval. Moreover, TMTG established the Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, a new entity focused on acquiring up to 19% of the token’s supply through a planned SPAC merger. This initiative aims to create a dedicated digital asset treasury centered around CRO.
