Ethereum (ETH) co-creator Vitalik Buterin has made headlines once again as he recently sold off a number of digital assets, including Neiro (NEIRO) and various memecoins. Market analytics platform Arkham Intelligence reported that Buterin sold Dogecoin (DOGE) and several other smaller market cap tokens on Monday.
Pseudonymous on-chain analyst EmberCN provided a detailed list of the assets that Buterin sold, totaling nearly $1 million. Among the sales were 70 million Neiro for $74,095 and 92,000 DOGE for $35,233. EmberCN suggested that Buterin may be consolidating his holdings to donate to his charity Kanro.
Kanro is a biotech charity that Buterin established to address issues related to COVID-19 and other pandemics. EmberCN noted, “[Buterin] is selling memecoins donated to his wallet regularly again: ‘[On Monday], he sold a total of 28 memecoins for 984,000 USDC, and then donated the USDC to the Kanro address. Some tokens have experienced a sharp decline due to their small market capitalization and poor pool depth. For example, DINU fell by 68% and SHIB fell by 38%.”
This isn’t the first time that Buterin has been seen selling digital assets to support Kanro. In October, blockchain reporter Colin Wu observed Buterin selling around $340,000 worth of meme coins in just thirty minutes.
It’s evident that Buterin remains committed to using his digital assets for charitable purposes, especially in the realm of biotech and pandemic relief efforts through Kanro. His actions continue to garner attention within the cryptocurrency community, showcasing his dedication to leveraging his wealth for positive impact.
