Xai to Launch Tiny Sentry Keys to Expand Gaming Ecosystem
Ethereum layer-3 gaming network Xai is gearing up to introduce “Tiny Sentry Keys” in a bid to make it easier for individuals to join its Sentry Key ecosystem. These keys are NFT-based licenses for nodes operated by network supporters, offering the opportunity to stake them and receive rewards. The Xai Foundation has already distributed approximately $340 million worth of rewards and airdrops through this mechanism, including the much-talked-about XAI token airdrop earlier this year.
Currently, there are 6,447 Sentry Key holders, as reported by ArbiScan, and this number is expected to increase with the launch of Tiny Sentry Keys. While Regular Sentry Keys typically sell for 1.43 ETH ($5,520), the Tiny Keys will be available for just 0.0143 ETH ($55), significantly reducing the barrier for players to engage with NFT nodes.
An official sale date for the Tiny Keys will be announced on December 9. Xai representatives have confirmed that holders of these keys will earn proportionally fewer rewards compared to holders of Regular Keys due to the reduced price. One network contributor likened the offering to a battle pass found in games like Fortnite, with unlockable rewards for players.
Xai, a layer-3 blockchain operating on top of the Ethereum layer-2 Arbitrum network, has been successful in attracting game developers to launch on its chain. Notable commitments include Ex Populus pledging its suite of games to Xai, Crypto Unicorns transitioning from Polygon to the network, and The MIX planning to release over 100 games on Xai.
With the introduction of Tiny Sentry Keys, Regular Key holders will receive an additional 99 keys to reach a total of 100. The Xai Foundation has revealed that more than “12 top-tier games and ecosystem projects” are collaborating to provide rewards for key holders. Additionally, purchasing these keys will become more convenient with the inclusion of credit and debit card payment options via Crossmint, along with the ability to pay with XAI tokens—with other major tokens set to be added soon.
