Arkham’s on-chain monitoring has identified a suspicious transfer of $20,000 in BTC to Satoshi Nakamoto’s address, marking the latest transaction to the Bitcoin founder’s wallet in the past four months.
Based on data from Arkham Intelligence, an unknown address sent 0.185 BTC (equivalent to approximately $20,000) to an address believed to be associated with Satoshi Nakamoto on June 30. As of now, the wallet linked to Satoshi holds a staggering $117 billion worth of Bitcoin.
The transfer has raised speculation within the cryptocurrency community, with some suggesting it could be an accidental transfer or a withdrawal from a crypto exchange or service. However, there is also the possibility that it was a generous gesture from an early Bitcoin adopter showing appreciation for Satoshi’s contributions to the crypto space.
This recent transfer is the second largest to Satoshi Nakamoto’s address, following a $200,000 Bitcoin transfer from a Binance user back in February 2025. The motive behind that transfer remains unclear, whether it was a mistake on the exchange’s part or a spontaneous act of gratitude from a Bitcoin enthusiast.
The cryptocurrency market has been experiencing moderate fluctuations, with Bitcoin seeing a 1.26% decrease in the last 24 hours, currently trading at $106,931. Bitcoin’s market cap stands at $2.12 trillion, with a daily trading volume of $22.3 billion.
The question arises as to why donations are being made to Satoshi Nakamoto’s wallet. A recent CryptoQuant report revealed that miners from the “Satoshi Nakamoto era” have significantly reduced their selling activities in 2025, with only 150 BTC sold compared to 10,000 BTC in the previous year. The daily outflow of miners has also decreased, indicating a decline in BTC being transferred to exchanges.
It is speculated that the recent transfer could be a way for Bitcoin enthusiasts to support the early miners from the Satoshi era. Earlier this year, another unidentified wallet sent $1.19 million in Bitcoin to Satoshi Nakamoto’s Genesis address, using a Binance account for the transaction.
The continuous support and donations to Satoshi Nakamoto’s wallet highlight the community’s appreciation for the pioneer of Bitcoin and his contributions to the decentralized financial system. As the crypto space evolves, the legacy of Satoshi Nakamoto continues to inspire and attract support from enthusiasts worldwide.
