Michael Saylor’s Strategy Makes Major Bitcoin Purchase, Bringing Holdings to Over 592,000 BTC
Michael Saylor’s Strategy has made headlines once again with its recent announcement of purchasing an additional 10,100 BTC for approximately $1.05 billion. This move has raised Strategy’s total holdings to a staggering 592,100 BTC, acquired at an average cost of $70,666 per Bitcoin.
The latest acquisition took place between June 9 and June 15, 2025, as revealed in a Form 8-K filed with the SEC. Strategy spent around $1.05 billion on this purchase, paying an average price of $104,080 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. This solidifies Strategy’s position as the world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, with a cumulative cost of $41.84 billion for its BTC holdings.
To finance this significant purchase, Strategy utilized multiple capital raises, including its STRK and STRF at-the-market offerings. Additionally, the company completed a $979.7 million public offering of STRD, its 10.00% Series A Perpetual Stride Preferred Stock, on June 10.
Strategy stated, “The Bitcoin purchases were made using proceeds from the STRK ATM, STRF ATM, and STRD Offering.”
In addition to the latest acquisition, Strategy reported an impressive 19.1% BTC yield year-to-date in 2025, showcasing the strength of its long-term Bitcoin investment thesis. This purchase follows a series of steady acquisitions throughout 2024 and early 2025, as Strategy continues to scale its position quarter over quarter.
The company’s commitment to the Bitcoin standard is evident in its consistent messaging and transparent approach to sharing its holdings. Strategy’s website, strategy.com, features a Bitcoin Dashboard that is regularly updated with BTC purchase details, securities activity, and performance metrics in compliance with Regulation FD.
Strategy’s move comes at a time of increasing institutional adoption of Bitcoin in 2025. The company’s acquisition strategy and clear communication have positioned it as a leader in corporate engagement with the digital asset. With over 592,000 Bitcoin now in its treasury, Strategy holds a significant portion of the asset’s limited 21 million supply, demonstrating its view of Bitcoin as a core component of its financial strategy.
